Technology is great, but sometimes you need a break.

Digital Detach for Android temporarily turns your smartphone into a dumb phone that limits everything except calls and texts for a period of time that you choose.

Do you need a digital intervention?

Probably. You need a digital detach if you can’t walk up a flight of stairs without checking your phone. You probably play Clash of Clans while sitting on the toilet, or you might send Snapchats to every one of your contacts…because you’re lonely.

“This app is dumb, people should just have self-control..”

You are probably right. The truth of the matter is that people DON’T have self-control. Digital Detach aims to make getting off your phone and enjoying life as easy as possible.
Digital Detach is available for $1.99 USD on the Google Play store.

This is the perfect app for when I need to read or sit down and write without distractions. I no longer have to worry about notifications from social media, and endless emails.

Digital Detach is a great way to limit distractions. I use it when I ride home on the subway and spend the time reading a book instead..

Stop following another person’s journey – start living your own

Put down the phone and hang out with the people that are most and friends. Digital Detach helps free your schedule, giving you more time to spend with the people that matter most.
How often do you take time to reflect on your day? Is it something you’d like to do? The first step is to put down your phone..this app makes that happen.

What is your time worth? $10/hr? $100/hr? Unlike Clash of Clans, Twitter, or Instagram, this app will give you more time. More time to do cool stuff.

Complain about not having enough time in the day? Unlike other apps, this is your fix. Less time on the phone, more time living the life you want.

Start a company, read a book, or take a long walk on the beach with your significant other. Less time on your phone = more time to do stuff in the real world.

The story behind Digital Detach

My name is Luke, and I did everything I could to avoid purchasing a smartphone. Up until 6 months ago, I had this phone, and I was fine.

I finally decided to give in (after getting lost in Boston all the time…I needed maps.) I quickly noticed that having a smartphone can be an easy fix to boredom, and it provided an escape from life (specifically, sitting on the subway.)

The more I thought about smartphone use, the more I decided to observe the world around me. It’s pretty obvious -¬†everyone is on their phone..all the time. It’s an addiction for many people.

I wanted something that could easily allow me to turn my smartphone into the flip-phone I used to have. I still wanted to communicate, but I didn’t want the distractions like Facebook, Reddit, and the news (it’s mostly depressing anyways.) I also wanted to make it as easy as possible, so there nothing would hold me back from taking a break, and enjoying the world around me.
